Analysis of the Proposed Tax Rate
The proposed tax rate for 2024 is $0.87000 per $100 of property value, which remains unchanged from last year’s rate. Although the rate is the same, the average appraised value of a residence homestead has increased slightly from $455,697.00 to $462,409.00.
Consequently, the average taxable value has risen from $395,742.00 to $410,026.00. As a result, the tax on an average residence homestead will increase from $3,442.96 to $3,567.23, an annual increase of $124.27 or 3.61%.
Impact on Property Owners
Your individual property tax may change depending on how your property’s value has changed in comparison to other properties within the district. This variance determines the overall distribution of the tax burden.
